With its Florence-based Enoteca, the experience extends beyond screens, allowing users to seamlessly transition from online discovery to in-person tastings.

Autoctono seeks to become a reference point, both physically and digitally, for those who share a passion for wine and its storytelling. From selecting the perfect wine, matched to individual personality traits, to the tasting experience, Autoctono strives to recreate the sensation of being guided by a personal sommelier, making every step of the journey immersive, meaningful, and unforgettable.

Design process

The design process has been user-centered from the very beginning. It started with interviews involving various stakeholders, including consumers and wine producers, and continued with several workshops focused on defining the branding and selecting and prioritizing the key features.
Autoctono focuses on a unique archetype-based approach, wine selection goes beyond merely choosing a product based on its characteristics. Instead of simply recommending wines based on taste, the platform connects personality traits with wine choices.

The Autoctono brand is created to celebrate the true spirit of Italian winemaking. It brings together authenticity, deep-rooted tradition, and the art of modern storytelling. Every detail, from colors to typography, is carefully chosen to reflect the unique character and rich heritage of native Italian wines. At the same time, the design ensures a fresh and contemporary feel, making the experience both inviting and memorable. Through this balance of past and present, Autoctono connects people to the stories, flavors, and emotions that make each wine special.

Autoctono bridges the digital and physical worlds, by creating a unique hybrid wine ecosystem.

It offers the first-of-its-kind digital tasting experience, moving beyond traditional paper notes. The digital tasting sheets provide enhanced interactivity and memory retention, allowing users to save, organize, and share their impressions with friends or professional networks like AIS and FISAR. These structured digital sheets follow sommelier methodologies, making them a valuable resource for training, guided tastings, and certifications.

An archetype based approach

Autoctono redefines wine selection by linking personality traits to wine identities. Instead of relying solely on flavor profiles, it uses a unique model that matches individual character with each wine’s story.

Interactive & Local

By offering personalized recommendations, interactive features, and gamification, Autoctono drives customer engagement and retention, increasing loyalty and encouraging repeat use.

Additionally, Autoctono empowers small producers by supporting local artisans and heritage winemaking, helping them connect with a broader audience.

Autoctono brings together online shopping, in-person tastings, and expert guidance in one smooth, connected experience. Whether browsing from home or tasting in the enoteca, users can easily move between the digital and physical worlds, making discovering, enjoying, and buying wine simple and enjoyable.
